I lucked out on this exact Guitar! Yesterday I had everything in the Sweetwater cart ready to buy, then I went to Guitar center for a guitar lesson and normally I bring my acoustic but I asked if I could play eclectic today. the rule is you can use any guitar under $500. I just happened to gravitate towards this exact guitar and it happened to be on SALE for $499! So I bought it! I f ing love love LOVE this Guitar!!!!

That much Rosin or Resin is very toxic, especially in a none climate control room, plus it's highly flammable ...run!

There was a guy making guitars out of resin he would mix in God stoppers or colored pencils.

The treble roll off circuit when you flip it to the ,"what would be neck position" is very useful, obviously you haven't played long enough or gigged enough to know the tone nuances of the Esquire, )or any guitar for that matter), That re-do of the pine Esquire is a fabulous guitar. Seems all you care about is running a crappy sounding distortion setting on your amp or pedal. maybe years in the future you will gain experience and educate your tonal palette

Bravo Austin🎸<[]>I saw the video of Ed King showing the Original RedEye to a Collector before it went to Carters Shop. It had a Double Cream bobbin PU at the Bridge & a Zebra at the Neck. Supposedly they were Custom made by Whizz Pickup Company to amplify the Reedy sound of the Guitars acoustics. Apparently Whizz made Ed happy in that respect. I saw Ed playing the rhythm parts on Freebird with a LesPaul. Not sure if it was RedEye but it sounded amazing✌️😎☯️

They could have at least gave us trapezoid inlays

I have a black custom with a mahogany neck built in 1986. I payed $600 for it back then.

Technically you can dissolve resin with acid - but would you want to pour acid onto this? You'd still have to dremel out the guitar before you did it - and if the acid got into the wood at all, you'd be knackered.

The only Les Paul whose neck is safe

Can you replace the pickups with regular sized ones? Or are the they also 6% smaller?

I love Les Paul's the way they sound. But I've been a fender player for 38 years. Say I would love to have one of these longer scale 25 1/2 in Les Paul's. It'd be the closest I can get to Les Paul / fender, I would absolutely love to have one

I hope it was a flawed discard. The pouring of the resin looks like it had some air get in. If one's time equals money, it wouldn't be worth attempting to retrieve and restore.

The red eye to me it's such a recognizable guitar? If you try to recreate it I'm going to notice that the red eye is off. I've been playing guitar for 40 years. I can tell by one look if it is a re-creation

The majority of les pauls are show pieces for people who don't even play guitar because the most musicians don't make enough money to buy a $4000 guitar. Even if you save up for as long as it takes...are you going to risk taking it to a gig that's paying you $200 to play?

I am old and sort of a guitar snob. The 70's Pauls weighing a ton as they do and being only minimally toneful I can't think of a better candidate for coffee table duty. The reason you find so many in beautiful, near virgin condition is that they didn't get played that much. I just don't like those. Not sorry.

Why...because used LPs pre Appetite G&R were out of fashion in the VH superstrat era and an MI store had way too many used LP trying to sell for $400 ballpark. Might as well make a table.

Is there absolutely no way to get the guitar out? I think it would be hard to do but not impossible. Probably cost way too much to get it out. But yeah, the resin likely destroyed it.

Hey Trogly, have you ever come across a Mojo Chessmaster guitar? John Flansburgh plays one, and I’d be very interested to see you document one on your show. I truly don’t know much about them, outside of him, playing them in the band, but he also plays Gibsons and Fenders, both of which I’m much more familiar with, especially more so nowadays due to your show. That said, I certainly think that the Mojo Chessmaster would be a unique piece for your channel, and something quite different from what I’ve seen you document in the past.
